Strategic Management: CEO/Founder, Green Water Solution, Inc. (2017-2019). Technical and operational leadership of startup introducing innovative technology in the wastewater industry, achieving profitability within 2 years of operation.
CEO, Algae to Omega Holdings, Inc. (2015-2016). Turnaround management of a stalling startup with initial commercial traction in the algae aquaculture/nutraceuticals industry by implementing new corporate strategies and processes and heading successful $1 million funding round, investor relations, and business development. Senior Director and Director of Research Facility, Algenol Biofuels, Inc. (2007-2015). Development of R&D department and facilities for an industrial biotech/renewable energy startup from inception to $200 million capitalization. Led 38 member R&D department and 25 member cross-functional, multi-national project teams, developed patents, proprietary technology, and regulatory frameworks and sustained a $25 million government grant. Maintained investor relations and public company presentation.

Consulting: President/Founder, Blue Orchid Consulting, LLC (2015-current). Technical-economic assessments of startups and projects for national and international government and private agencies, companies, and startup projects; development of business plans and operational strategies for startups; operational management and social media services, and web design for small private companies and sole-proprietor operations.

Research: Stanford University (1996), University of Texas (1999-2000), Researcher pioneering adoption of innovative biomedical technologies in marine science. Florida International University (2001-2007), Assistant Professor, designed and operated new Marine Biology degree program, project managed setup of 15,000 sq.ft. research and teaching building with $1.2 million equipment budget; maintained research program by securing $3 million in extramural grant funding.

International: Co-founder and Scientific Editor, Dreiviertel Publishing Company, Hamburg, Germany (1997-1999), business plan development and market placement of new public reading magazine "mare" that won two World Press Photo Awards and several international photo awards; strategic content planning, author relations, and journalistic writing. Research Assistant Professor, Kiel University, Germany, (1990-1996), established first German multidisciplinary working group in novel marine research field; led multi-national European Union research projects and represented German Ministry of Research in European consultations.
